1967 - Jack Riley starts as Pens general manager as the NHL expansion
draft took place in Montreal. - Obtained Paul Andrea, Dunc McCallum and
George Konik from the New York Rangers for Larry Jeffrey.
1969 - Pittsburgh obtained Ron Schock and Craig Cameron from St. Louis
for Lou Angotti and a first round choice in the 1971 Amateur Draft.
1992 - Mario Lemieux, the first Penguins player to grace the cover of
Sports Illustrated, appeared on his second of four covers.
2009 - Detroit Red Wings goalie Chris Osgood stopped all 22 Pittsburgh
shots in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, defeating the Pens, 5-0, to
take a 3-2 lead in the series.
